concept
What would you wish for the world if your work could speak?
Every New Year begins with a wish – personal or shared, quiet or bold.
Peace. Home. Love. Belonging. Courage. Healing. Abundance. Joy. Protection. Renewal.
For Rosh Hashanah, we gather around the table to mark a new beginning: to look back, look forward, and express our hopes for the year ahead.
With WISHES, we invite artists, designers and independent creators to give these hopes a physical form. Not just as a greeting or a decorative symbol, but objects and artworks that carry meaning, memory, feeling or intention.
A vessel can carry abundance.
A candle can bring light.
A textile can speak of belonging.
A sculpture can embody protection.
An object can become a wish.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We welcome original artworks, artist-made objects and collectible design with a strong artistic identity, thoughtful materiality and a contemporary point of view.
This may include:
- Ceramics and sculptural vessels
- Tableware and serving objects
- Candleholders and works related to light
- Glass and metal objects
- Textile art and table textiles
- Small-scale sculpture
- Painting, photography and mixed media
- Artist-made objects and limited editions
- Contemporary interpretations of traditional objects
- Experimental works across materials and disciplines
Both functional and non-functional works are welcome. What matters is not the function itself, but the meaning the work carries.
