Adi Sagie - multidisciplinary artist, placemaking entrepreneur and interior designer. Lives and creates in Be'er Sheva, and leads art initiatives and community intervention in the city's public spaces. Sagie holds a B.Sc.TE degree in interior design from the Holon Institute of Technology (HIT) along with a teaching certificate in design from Tel Aviv University, is a graduate of the Mandel Program for Cultural Leadership in the Negev and of the Shemesh Program for Artists from the Negev, Kibbutz Yad Mordechai. Sagie is a self-taught artist. In recent years, Sagie has focused mainly on the art of collage. Her work explores the decomposition and assembly of existing images, using printed materials collected from everyday sources. Through the act of subtraction, creating voids and filling them with new images using visible & colorful masking tape, a combination of text and drawing, she examines memory, material, and how new and unexpected connections are formed. Sagie's inspiration stems from the everyday materials she works with. The work always starts from an existing source. One of the quotes that motivates Sagie is the quote from Vincent van Gogh: "Great things are done by a series of small things coming together". Sagie participated in group exhibitions across the country (at the Petah Tikva Museum of Art, the Amiad Center Gallery in Jaffa, and the Artura Gallery in the Ruppin Center) and abroad.
