SHIRI LOPATA

Shiri Lopata is an Israeli ceramic artist and designer whose work is inspired by the natural world. Her practice emerges from observing botanical structures, processes of growth, organic movement, and the traces that time leaves on materials and forms. Through clay, she explores the relationships between body, material, and space, creating a dialogue between nature and the human environment. Her work seeks to translate the sense of wonder, harmony, and stillness found in nature into a material language, inviting moments of contemplation, presence, and connection.

Hand-built from a variety of clay bodies, her works are characterized by asymmetry, delicate textures, and a natural palette ranging from soft whites and sand tones to stone and earthy hues. These colors emerge from the material itself through the use of different clays and firing processes, emphasizing the deep connection between the work and its natural origins. Her visual language moves between movement and stillness, softness and strength, organic expression and restrained simplicity. Influences from her background in fashion, interior, and digital design can be seen in her sensitivity to form, rhythm, touch, and spatial presence.

In 2023, Shiri dedicated herself fully to her ceramic practice. In 2024, she participated in the 1000 Vases exhibition in Paris, and her work is presented in galleries, design spaces, and private collections. Through her practice, she seeks to reconnect viewers with the quiet beauty and harmony of nature, inviting moments of reflection, stillness, and presence.
