המהדורה השלישית של הביאנלה לאומנויות ולעיצוב תל אביב תיפתח במרץ 2026, תחת התמה “מעשים וימים“, בהשראת שירו האפי של הסיודוס, המשורר היווני הקדום. הבחירה בכותרת זו משרטטת את מושג ה”עבודה” במובנו הרחב – לא רק כעמל ויצירה אמנותית, אלא גם כמעשה ופעולה, יוזמה ואחריות מוסרית – מושגים שרלוונטיים במיוחד במציאות ובדחיפות של הרגע הנוכחי.
מעל ל־1,500 הצעות התקבלו לוועדת השיפוט, ומתוכן נבחרו פרויקטים המציגים את המגוון הרחב של תחומי קראפט – קרמיקה, זכוכית, טקסטיל, נייר, צורפות ועוד – לצד תחומי העיצוב השונים עיצוב תעשייתי, עיצוב אופנה, תקשורת חזותית, לרבות אדריכלות, וידאו ופרקטיקות פרפורמטיביות.
רבות מן העבודות משלבות מסורת וחדשנות, עם דגש על גישות ניסיוניות ותהליכיות, ומיקוד מיוחד במורשת תרבותית ובקיימות סביבתית. בגישתה הרב-תחומית, הביאנלה תציג תמונה עדכנית של סצנת הקראפט והעיצוב המקומית.
בביתנים השונים של המוזיאון, יתקיימו פרויקטים של שיתופי פעולה בין אוצרות ואוצרי המוזיאון לבין יוצרות ויוצרים מוזמנים, אשר יגיבו לאוספים של המוזיאון ויטוו חיבורים חדשים בין עבר והווה.
במהלך חודשי הביאנלה, שלוש חממות אקדמיות בתחומי העיצוב השונים יציגו זו אחר זו, ויאפשרו הצצה אל מאחורי הקלעים של תהליכי חשיבה ועבודה מבוססי מחקר.
במבנה המרובד והדינמי שלה, הביאנלה של 2026, תלווה בקטלוג מאמרים, בלוג ומדריך קולי כמו גם בפעילויות מגוונות, כגון סדנאות, הרצאות, שיחי גלריה, מפגשים עם אמנים, אירועים רב-תחומיים, מופעים, כנס בינלאומי, ושלל פעילויות בהשתתפות הקהל בפארק ג׳ק ג׳וזף ומורטון מנדל (“הבוסתן”).

The 3rd edition of the Tel Aviv Biennale of Craft and Design returns in 2026 under the theme Works and Days, drawn from Hesiod’s ancient Greek epic poem. This timeless reference frames the concept of “work” in its broadest sense – not only as labor and craftsmanship, but also as action, agency and ethical responsibility – ideas that resonate deeply with our current reality.
Over 1,500 proposals were reviewed, and the selected projects span the full spectrum of craft media – ceramics, glass, textile, paper, fiber, metal, and jewelry – as well as a wide range of design disciplines including architecture, industrial design, visual communication, video and performative practices. The Biennale will showcase both emerging and established voices, drawing an up-to-date picture of the vibrant Israeli craft and design scene while also exploring new directions and challenges.
Many of the works present bold combinations of traditional techniques and cutting-edge technologies, alongside experimental and process-driven practices with particular focus on cultural heritage and environmental sustainability.
As part of the Biennale, specially curated projects will take place in MUZA’s permanent collection pavilions. These collaborations between the museum’s curators and invited artists and designers will respond to the wide-ranging collections generating new connections between past and present.
Throughout the months of the Biennale, three Academic Labs of will successively offer a behind-the-scenes glimpse into research-based creative processes.
The Biennale will be accompanied by a range of collateral events, including workshops, gallery talks, and encounters with the artists, conferences, interdisciplinary events, performances, and other activities at the Jack Joseph and Morton Mendel Park (“Bustan”).
