About the company
Just a Second (JAS) – a place to find unique design objects with history, value, and meaning
In a design culture driven by constant renewal, Just a Second offers a different way to work with interiors – thoughtful, responsible, and genuinely unique.
Just a Second is an Israeli NGO working at the intersection of urban renewal, circular economy, and contemporary design. Through a unique Urban Mining model, the project collaborates with leading real estate developers to recover furniture, fixtures, and high-quality materials from apartments scheduled for demolition before they become waste. So far, more than 260 tons of premium materials have been saved from landfills and returned to the design ecosystem.
What you can do at Just a Second
The JAS gallery and workshops function as a material resource center, a place where designers and clients can:
1. Find one-of-a-kind pieces
Furniture, interior elements, household and decorative objects, and raw materials, all with character and history.
Each item is unique, ideal for interiors that seek individuality rather than repetition.
2. Source materials for real interiors
Whether for private homes, studios, or public spaces, JAS offers pieces that cannot be replicated and naturally become focal points of a space.
3. Visit with clients
Professional tours and guided visits provide a tangible way to introduce clients to circular design and responsible sourcing, helping them understand the value behind each object.
4. Join workshops and lectures
Practical and conceptual sessions focused on circular design, material reuse, and sustainable urban practice.
5. Host or attend events
The industrial-chic JAS compound is available for professional meetings, launches, lectures, and community events.
Design with social impact
The JAS workshop brings together IDF reservists, designers, and artisans, combining craftsmanship with rehabilitation.
Proceeds support veterans’ mental health programs, adding a social dimension to every project and purchase.
By working with JAS, you:
-
Expand your material and design vocabulary
-
Offer clients responsible, meaningful choices
-
Take part in transforming “quality waste” into a national design resource
-
Align professional excellence with social and environmental responsibility
