ABOUT THE STUDIO

 

“Baalot Melecha” is a master carpentry studio for the design and production of handmade wooden furniture and objects, owned by Anat Glazer and Doron Shai, located in the Neve Tzedek neighborhood of Jaffa.

Anat Glazer holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Design from Bezalel. She completed a carpentry course at the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor and later specialized in wood engraving. Doron Shai completed a carpentry course at the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor and then studied traditional carpentry at École Boulle in Paris.

 

Ba’alot Melacha exhibited in exhibitions such as “Tzeva Teri,” “Na’ar Ouman,” and more. In the studio, you can find a changing collection of large furniture pieces alongside decorative objects and functional items for the home. Each item in the collection takes shape here in our carpentry shop, from the initial sketch through the production process and all the way to the finishing stage. Our work processes combine traditional and modern techniques, constantly examining the possibilities that wood offers and its limitations. In this way, we continue to delve into the depths of this material that is so familiar to us, yet also carries with it ancient secrets, like the secret of creation itself.

Next to the carpentry workshop, there is an exhibition space containing the collection’s pieces, where visitors can come to view, touch, and meet Anat and Doron over a cup of coffee.

Bookshelves, dining tables, coffee tables, buffets, stools, lighting fixtures, armchairs, functional art objects.

 

MATERIALS AND FINISHES

All furniture is made of solid wood such as

– oak

– walnut

– elm

– maple

– clear pine

– Carolina pine

We match each wood and piece of furniture with the appropriate finish, with a preference for unique natural oils that give the wood full prominence.

 

DIMENSIONS

All pieces of furniture can be customized in size and wood type.

 

CUSTOMIZATION

The studio’s design language allows great flexibility in adapting furniture to the various needs and desires of our customers. Each piece can be ordered in a variety of colors, sizes, and wood types, according to the need.

 

TERMS OF WORK

Each piece of furniture gets a rendering before the production, so the customer knows exactly what they will receive.
We are the installers of our own furniture, and from the drawing stage to the installation stage, the furniture only passes through our hands.

 

IN STOCK/TIME OF PRODUCTION & DELIVERY

We have some products in stock regularly, such as menorahs, baby mobiles, stools, vases and placemats.

Production and delivery time for custom made items: within 60 business days.
