6 Exhibitions To Visit In March

March turned out to be very rich for impressing art events. Alexandra Levin, art historian and art guide prepared a list of local exhibitions and cultural events that she highly recommends to visit this month. 1. TAAD. One week of International Design in Tel Aviv, 5-11.03

Isaac Remba St 7, Tel Aviv-Yafo

The first international design showcase in Israel, presenting inspiring collectible design, handpicked from leading galleries worldwide. TAAD brings together design, art, culture and commerce, displaying 600 objects and 108 artists in a huge 1000m² exhibition vanue.

TAAD was founded in 2024 by Maria Nasimov, an art historian, curator and advisor, with the intention of opening a gateway between the global design community and the local audience of design enthusiasts.

TAAD launches its first fair with an exhibition centering around the theme of “Everyday Wonder”. Highlighting objects which elevate everyday routines and rituals, the exhibition is curated by Maria Cristina Didero, one of the leading global design curators. Accompanying the main exhibition, TAAD presents exciting collaborations aimed at engaging all the senses. These include an exclusive scent developed especially for TAAD by the luxury perfume brand TEKES. In addition to a pop up store by As Promised magazine, a curated platform dedicated to promoting Middle Eastern design and culture to an international audience.

The showcase venue includes a 1000m² exhibition space planned by Ariel Armoni, amongst Israel’s leading exhibition designers. Paralleled by an equally impressive 1000m² commercial space, designed by Simon Barazin, known for his radical contemporary outlook.

2. Ran Tenenbaum "Solar Plexus"

Rothschild Fine Art Gallery, Tel Aviv

Personal exhibition of the allcaimed Israeli painter Ran Tenenbaum, who in his recent series of works has returned to realistic painting of the highest quality.

The “Solar Plexus” show in the Rothschild Fine Art Gallery in Tel Aviv sums up two past years of Tenenbaum’s intensive artistic search for his current path in the art world. His renewed connection to the realistic painting led to the emergence of raw emotional works, combining the insightful power of observation with great painting techniques.

3. New Exhibition Season

Petach Tikva Museum of Art, Petach Tikva

A series of 6 new exhibitions, featuring the works of the local artists in different mediums, including a group show “If I Were a Body”, exploring human body’s fragility, 3 solo shows and 2 duo exhibitions.

“If I Were a Body” – a group exhibition, that brings together artists, who deal with the fragility and partiality of the body in its physical and mental manifestations. Participating artists: Sigalit Landau, Yigal Tumarkin, Nirit Takele, Alex Kremer, Doris Arkin, Avital Knaani, Meirav Marudi and others.

In her solo show Carmit Hassine showecases a series of sculptures that seem to be a hybrid of human curves and industrial structures. Daniel Kiczales presents a new performative video work. The duo exhibition of the artists Hili Lew Greenfeld and Shirel Safra combines paintings and sculptures dealing with the theme of transition from childhood to adulthood. The exhibition “Ira Jann; Arthur Kolnik: Seeing the Melody” creates an extraordinary dialogue between two illustrators of two special editions of stories by Isaac Leib Peretz. Lior Grady’s solo exhibition completes his residency program in the Petach Tikva museum’s Print Workshop. Grady presents a series of screen prints inspired by the museum’s permanent collection.

4. "Count the stars"

BoHouse Art House, moshav Sha’ar Efraim

Solo exhibition of Haifa-based artist Andrey Popov held in a very special

venue – a private family house of the well-known Israeli photographer and digital artist Dina Bova, located in moshav Sha’ar Efraim in central Israel. Bova’s House fascinates the visitors with its unique design and a diverse collection of art displayed on its walls.

Andrey Popov moved to Israel in 2022. He has participated in over 100 exhibitions worldwide, including solo shows, and has won more than 40 international awards in the field of ironic graphics. Andrey has illustrated dozens of books, magazines, and newspapers, his work can be seen in numerous print and online publications.

The exhibition “Count the Stars”, curated by Dina Bova and Gadi Boleslavsky, is a fascinating journey into a world of quiet observations and touching images. In his paintings, the artist creates warm, multi-layered stories filled with symbols and irony, where everyday objects and people get special meanings. Andrey is one of those rare artists who has preserved a childlike ability to feel the world’s marvels, and through this perspective, he reveals familiar things and relationships in an unexpected light. Visiting the BoHouse Art House you’ll also see a small additional exhibition of the artist Mikhail Baranovskiy.

5. NEW PERMANENT COLLECTION DISPLAY

Yaacov Agam Museum, Rishon LeTsiyon

Permanent collection of the Yaacov Agam Museum introduces various chapters in the work of the world-renowned Israeli artist Yaacov Agam, best known for his pioneering of kinetic art. The new collection display tells the story of Agam’s life, presenting the place of the artist in the history of contemporary art and his presence in Israeli art world.

The new temporary exhibition “Yaacov Agam and Uri Tzaig: Surfaces in motion” is a kind of continuation of the renewed permanent collection. Curated by the historian and researcher of Israeli art Yaniv Shapira, this show creates an opportunity to get acquainted with a unique dialogue between Yaacov Agam’s prints and the tapestries of Uri Tzaig. The abstract forms, modes of movement in space and changing perspectives turn the viewers into active participants of the exhibition experience.
